Collaborative project: Frische Daten: Optimised decision making along the supply chain of fruit, vegetables and fish using an open data and service framework including services for recording and assessing the quality and freshness of food (FriDa) - Subproject A

Sponsored by: Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL)

Project Manager: Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE)

Duration: 11/2020 – 12/2023

Consortium: ATB Bremen, Euro Pool System, Fraunhofer IOSB, tsenso GmbH, Universität Bonn

FriDa is developing two different solutions to counteract the problem of food loss. On the one hand, Euro Pool System with its Smart Tray, Euro Pool System offers an option for seamless (temperature) monitoring of the supply chain. On the other hand, tsenso is developing with Fraunhofer and the University of Bonn, tsenso is developing more precise determination of the quality and shelf life of transported products in real time.

Both solutions lead to less food waste, greater transparency and ideally
and, ideally, better time of consumption. Information is provided by a data exchange platform developed by ATB along along the supply chain. The combination of the innovative solutions reduces food waste,
increases transparency and optimises food quality.
